* The International Commission on Civil Status (ICCS), or La Commission Internationale de l'Etat Civil (CIEC) is an intergovernmental organisation comprising the following States: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, the United Kingdom. The following have observer status: the Holy See, Lithuania, the Russian Federation, Slovenia, Sweden. It has signed co-operation agreements with the Council of Europe, The Hague Conference on Private International Law, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the European Union. Under its statutes, the ICCS compiles documentation and draws up conventions.
